LESSON INFO

Audience

  • End users who sign in to Themis-Trace using the Web App.
  • End users who sign in to the Themis-Trace Scanner App.
  • Facility administrators who set up and maintain Scanner App devices.

Prerequisites

  • You have a Themis-Trace account.
  • You have a Themis-Trace username and password.
  • If you use the Scanner App:
    • The Scanner App is installed on the device.
    • An administrator has set up the device to the correct Themis-Trace instance (via the Setup screen and setup barcode).
    • You know which Facility you should work in (if your instance has more than one facility available in the app).

Skills you’ll build

  • You can log in to Themis-Trace using the Web App with one of the supported sign-in methods.
  • You can log in to the Scanner App using User ID and Password.
  • (Admin) You can set up a Scanner App device to the correct instance using the setup barcode.
  • You can recognize when access is blocked because you are not logged in, or because the facility you selected is unavailable.

LESSON OUTLINE

Logging In

  • Web App login is used to access the core Themis-Trace application in a browser.
  • Scanner App login is used to access mobile scanning workflows.
  • In both cases, you must log in before you can use the application.

Tenant vs. Facility in the Scanner App

  • Tenant: The server environment the device connects to (for example, a specific customer instance). Instance selection happens during device setup.
  • Facility: The working context you log into (shown as a dropdown only when more than one facility is available).
  • Why this matters: Selecting the wrong facility can result in receiving or shipping in the wrong place, and selecting an unavailable facility can prevent login.

Logging in (Web App)

  1. Navigate to the Themis-Trace Web App home screen.
  2. Click the Login button.
    • If you are not logged in, the Login button is available by default on the home screen.
    • If you are logged in, Logout is available under [Username] → Logout.
  3. Enter your username & password and click Log In.
  4. Confirm you have been returned to the Themis-Trace main menu.

Logging in (Scanner App)

  1. The Login screen is visible by default.
  2. Enter your username & password.
  3. Tap Login.
  4. Confirm you reach the Main Menu.

Change your password (recommended after your first login)

If your administrator gave you a temporary password, you should change it immediately after your first successful login.

  1. Log in to Themis-Trace using your username and temporary password.
  2. Open your account/profile menu (typically under your name in the top navigation).
  3. Select Change Password.
  4. Enter:
    • Current password (your temporary password)
    • New password
    • Confirm new password
  5. Click Change Password.
  6. Confirm a success message is displayed.
  7. Log out and log back in using the new password.

Reset your password

  1. Go to the Themis-Trace login screen.
  2. Click Forgot Password.
  3. Enter your registered email address (or username, depending on what the screen requests).
  4. Click Send Reset Link.
  5. Open the password reset email and click the link.
  6. Enter your new password and confirm it.
  7. Click Reset Password.
  8. Return to the login screen and log in with your new password.

Verification

  • Web App
    1. Confirm the Login button is available on the home screen when you are not logged in.
    2. Log in as described above.
    3. Confirm the application menus become accessible after login.
    4. Confirm Logout is available under [Account Name] > Logout.
  • Scanner App
    1. Confirm Splash → Login sequence.

COMMON ISSUES

    • Likely causes:

      • Server-side error during login.

      • The network is down.

      • The network is live, but cannot establish a connection to the Internet.

    • Checks:

      • Retry login.

    • Fix:

      • Try again later.

      • If it persists, escalate with time of error and device details.
