LESSON INFO

Audience

  • Warehouse operators using the Scanner App to create TELIA move requests.
  • Facility admins and supervisors validating that TELIA request creation is working end to end.

Prerequisites

  • In the Scanner App, you can access Create TELIA Request from the Main Menu Grid or the Menu Drawer.
  • You have a role that can submit TELIA requests (see Roles and permissions below).

Skills you’ll build

  • Create a TELIA request from the Scanner App using the required fields.
  • Recognize and resolve validation prompts without losing entered data.
  • Collect the right troubleshooting details when a request cannot be submitted.

LESSON OUTLINE

Concept

  • A TELIA request is a command sent to TELIA to move an item to a selected destination.
  • The Scanner App validates required fields before submission.
    • If validation fails, the app keeps your inputs so you can correct and retry.

Create a TELIA request

  1. In Item ID, scan or type the item.
  2. In Customer:
    • If you only have one customer context, the field is read-only.
    • If more than one customer is available, select the correct customer.
  3. In Cradle:
    • Enter or scan a cradle only when required.
    • Cradle is mandatory if the location is unknown or when receiving an item into TELIA automation.
  4. In Destination, select a destination.
    • Destination is mandatory.
  5. (Optional) Review Available Positions.
    • This section shows Footprint/position combinations by Bay to help users select destinations that can verifiably accommodate a given item.
    • This section is hidden by default.
    • It becomes visible when the scanned item is not currently in TELIA automation.
  6. Select Create TELIA Request.
  7. Confirm you receive a confirmation popup indicating the request was created.

Safe edits

  • If you scanned the wrong value:
    • Re-scan into the same field.
    • Or use the Clear icon to reset (confirm the prompt).
  • If you are unsure about a selection:
    • Stop and confirm the Customer and Destination before submitting.
  • If a required field is missing:
    • Use the prompt to find the first incomplete field.
    • Complete it and re-submit. Your previous inputs should be preserved.

Verification

  • Primary success signal (Scanner App):
    • A confirmation popup appears after submission.
  • If a request is created successfully, users can see it from the Requests menu on the TELIA Dashboard.
  • If submission fails:
    • Capture the exact prompt text.
    • Capture the Item ID, selected Customer (if applicable), Cradle (if used), and Destination.
    • Retry once after correcting the missing/invalid field.
    • Contact TELIA support if the issue persists.

COMMON ISSUES

    • Likely cause

      • The camera cannot read the barcode.

    • Checks

      • Retry the scan.

      • Confirm the barcode is not damaged or obstructed.

    • Fix

      • Scan again.

        • If scan continues to fail, type the value manually.

    • Likely cause

      • The scanned value does not match the expected format for the field.

    • Checks

      • Confirm you scanned the correct barcode for the target field (e.g., Item ID vs Cradle).

    • Fix

      • Re-scan the correct barcode.

      • Or type the value manually.

    • Likely cause

      • System or network error during submission.

    • Checks

      • Confirm your device has network connectivity.

      • Confirm the issue persists after one retry.

    • Fix

      • Retry submission.

      • If it still fails, report the issue with: Item ID, Facility, Destination, timestamp, and the exact error message.
