LESSON OUTLINE

Concept

  • A Work Order captures a task your own team originates. Example: an operator notices a coil that needs rebanding before it ships, or a supervisor wants a piece scrapped.
  • Work Orders support 3 categories: Scrapped, Rebanding, Other.
  • A Work Order must reference at least one inventory item. Step 2 blocks progress until you've linked at least one.

Step 1: Order Details

  1. From the Work Orders grid, select New.
  2. Choose Category: Scrapped, Rebanding, or Other.
  3. Set Priority (Low / Medium / High).
  4. Select Customer and Assignee (defaults to you).
  5. Set Due Date (required) and, optionally, Scheduled Date.
  6. Enter a Description explaining the task.
  7. Optional: expand the Attachments panel and stage any files. They save with the Work Order when you select Save & Close.
  8. Select Next once Category, Priority, and Due Date are filled.

Step 2: Link Items

  1. Use the Available Items pane (filterable by Item ID, Heat, Customer, Location) to find the item(s).
  2. Move items into Linked Items using the arrow buttons: move selected, move all, remove selected, remove all.
  3. Confirm at least one item is linked before selecting → (Next).

Step 3: Review & Save

  1. Confirm the Order Details summary and the Linked Items count.
  2. Select Save & Close.
    • Themis-Trace auto-generates the Order ID and writes a "Created manually" audit row.

Verification

  • Confirm the new Work Order appears in the grid with status Open.
  • Open it and confirm the linked item count and any attachments you staged.
